Expand

Androgenisierungserscheinungen an der Haut
TLDR
Acne, hirsutism, and androgenetic alopecia are all caused by an interaction between different genes and androgens (testosterone and dihydrotestosterone) and can be treated by comedolytic topical agents, doxycycline, and antiandrogenic pills. Expand
Hyperandrogenismus, adrenale Dysfunktion und Hirsutismus
TLDR
Klinische Manifestationen von Hyperandrogenismus umfassen Hirsutismus, Seborrhö, Akne und androgenetische Alopezie, while Klitorishypertrophie, Zunahme der Muskelmasse, unregelmäßiger Menstruationszyklus and metabolisches Syndrom können mit Hyperandrogensämie einhergehen. Expand
Moderne Aspekte der Aknepathogenese
TLDR
Die Patienten erhielten pro Jahr 6,5 Millionen neue Rezepte mit einer systemischen Antiaknetherapie (Antibio− tika oder Isotretinoin) im Wert von über eine Milliarde US−Dol− lar. Expand
Sinn und Unsinn der ästhetischen Endokrinologie
TLDR
Postmenopausal hormone substitution leads to improvement of the skin barrier and skin quality through preservation of the dermal collagen content; cicatrization, cutaneous circulation and hair quality also benefit. Expand
Hormonelle Kontrazeption
TLDR
The use of combined oral contraceptives with ethinylestradiol and antiandrogens like cyproteronacetate, chlormadinonacetat and drospirenone are an important therapeutic approach in women with androgen-dependant diseases as they suppress ovarian androgen secretion and increase hepatic sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) synthesis. Expand
Acne vulgaris
TLDR
Peripherally active androgens control cellular functions by binding to androgen receptors by stimulating keratinocyte proliferation and the volume of sebaceous glands as well as the sebum secretion rate. Expand
Diagnostik und Therapie der kutanen Androgenisierung im klimakterischen Übergang sowie in der Peri- und Postmenopause: Hirsutismus und Alopezie
TLDR
The oral use of spirono- lactone and/or finasteride, both non-steroidal antiandrogens, is an appropriate systemic tool under safe contraceptive control dur- ing MT; spironolactone is sufficient for the treat- ment of alopecia in menopausal women. Expand

Update and Future of Systemic Acne Treatment
TLDR
Hormonal treatment represents an alternative regimen in female acne, whereas it is mandatory in resistant, severe pubertal or post-adolescent forms of the disease and, especially, new anti-inflammatory agents, such as lipoxygenase inhibitors. Expand

In a further study Neo-Eunomin was compared with a contraceptive containing a nor-testosteron derivative (Conceplan 21), and showed convincingly better efficacy in the treatment of androgenisation of the skin than the preparation under comparison. Expand

TLDR
In a study involving 144 women, most of whom were suffering from moderately severe androgenization, Diane-35 (reduced to 0.035 mg ethinyl estradiol) was used as an antiandrogenically active hormonal contraceptive and from the sixth treatment cycle onward acne and seborrhea were significantly improved or already healed. Update and Future of Hormonal Therapy in Acne
TLDR
Recent research over the past several years has unraveled some of the details regarding the way that the skin and sebaceous glands synthesize and metabolize hormones, providing an impetus for future drug discovery in the hormonal treatment of acne. Expand
Efficacy of the combination ethinyl oestradiol and cyproterone acetate on endocrine, clinical and ultrasonographic profile in polycystic ovarian syndrome.
TLDR
The results show the effectiveness of this combination of ethinyl oestradiol/cyproterone acetate pill on androgenic symptoms, especially on acne, and suggest that acne and hirsutism are induced by different peripheral mechanisms. Expand
[The effectiveness of oral cyproterone acetate in combination with ethinylestradiol in acne tarda of the facial type].
