Contemporary literature on treatment of Tourette syndrome recommends behavioral psychotherapy as first line offer to patients in most cases. In this paper I will try to show that psychoanalytic psychotherapy, if modified, may be efficient as well. Modification of psychoanalytic technique is needed in some cases because patients with Tourette syndrome have impaired capacities for symbolic representation.
