Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune disease and collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) is an animal model for RA. Micheliolide (MCL) is a novel compound with strong anti-inflammatory effects. The present study was conducted to evaluate the therapeutic effects of MCL on RA. Mice were randomly divided into four groups and the CIA model mice were treated with methotrexate (MTX), MCL and dimethyl sulfoxide.
