The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 95% curcumin and 95% liposomal-curcumin in moderately arthritic dogs. Ten client-owned dogs in a randomized, double-blinded study received either 95% curcumin (500 mg) once a day (SID) or 95% curcumin (250 mg) twice a day (BID) for a period of five months. Dogs were evaluated each month for physical condition (body weight, body temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate), pain associated with arthritis (overall…
A Pilot Study on the Effects of Curcumin on Parasites, Inflammation, and Opportunistic Bacteria in Riding Horses
TLDR
Curcumin was not an effective compound against intestinal parasites or fecal microbial strains examined when administered for 30 days; but could potentially decrease inflammation.

Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Arthritic Efficacy and Safety of Purified Shilajit in Moderately Arthritic Dogs
TLDR
It was concluded that Shilajit significantly (P<0.05) reduced pain in osteoarthritic dogs and markedly improved their daily life without any side effects.
Anti-Arthritic Efficacy And Safety Of Crominex 3+ (Trivalent Chromium, Phyllanthus emblica Extract, And Shilajit) In Moderately Arthritic Dogs
TLDR
Crominex 3+ significantly (P<0.05) ameliorated arthritic pain and improved quality of life without causing any untoward effects in moderatelyArthritic dogs.
Efficacy and safety of Meriva®, a curcumin-phosphatidylcholine complex, during extended administration in osteoarthritis patients.
TLDR
Significant improvements of both the clinical and biochemical end points were observed for Meriva compared to the control group, which suggests that Meriva is worth considering for the long-term complementary management of osteoarthritis.
Therapeutic Efficacy and Safety of Undenatured Type II Collagen Singly or in Combination with Glucosamine and Chondroitin in Arthritic Dogs
TLDR
Data of this placebo-controlled study demonstrate that daily treatment of arthritic dogs with UC-II alone or in combination with glucosamine and chondroitin markedly alleviatesArthritic-associated pain, and these supplements are well tolerated as no side effects were noted.
Pharmacological basis for the role of curcumin in chronic diseases: an age-old spice with modern targets.
TLDR
Because of the crucial role of inflammation in most chronic diseases, the potential of curcumin has been examined in neoplastic, neurological, cardiovascular, pulmonary and metabolic diseases.
Anticancer potential of curcumin: preclinical and clinical studies.
TLDR
Evidence has also been presented to suggest that curcumin can suppress tumor initiation, promotion and metastasis, and Pharmacologically,Curcumin has been found to be safe.
Comparative therapeutic efficacy and safety of type-II collagen (UC-II), glucosamine and chondroitin in arthritic dogs: pain evaluation by ground force plate.
The investigation was conducted on client-owned moderately arthritic dogs with two objectives: (i) to evaluate therapeutic efficacy of type-II collagen (UC-II) alone or in combination with
Bioavailability of curcumin: problems and promises.
TLDR
Enhanced bioavailability of curcumin in the near future is likely to bring this promising natural product to the forefront of therapeutic agents for treatment of human disease.
“Spicing Up” of the Immune System by Curcumin
TLDR
Curcumin’s reported beneficial effects in arthritis, allergy, asthma, atherosclerosis, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, and cancer might be due in part to its ability to modulate the immune system, and these findings warrant further consideration of curcumin as a therapy for immune disorders.
Dietary administration of Curcumin modifies transcriptional profile of genes involved in inflammatory cascade in horse leukocytes
TLDR
Results indicate that Curcumin has nutritional potential as a natural anti-inflammatory agent for treating osteoarticular disorders through suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and catabolic enzymes.
