We propose a novel spin density wave (SDW) state as a possible mechanism of the anomalous antiferromagnetism, so-called the micromagnetism, in URu_2Si_2 below 17.5[K]. In this new SDW, the electron-hole pair amplitude changes its sign in the momentum space as in the case of the unconventional superconductivity. It is shown that this state can be realized in an extended Hubbard model within the mean field theory. We also examine some characteristic properties of this SDW to compare with the…
Interplay between spin-density wave and induced local moments in URu2Si2
Theoretical model for magnetic ordering in the heavy-fermion metal URu2Si2 is suggested. The 17.5 K transition in this material is ascribed to formation of a spin-density wave SDW , which develops
RECENT ADVANCES IN UNCONVENTIONAL DENSITY WAVES
The unconventional density wave (UDW) was speculated on as a possible electronic ground state in the excitonic insulator in 1968. The recent surge of interest in UDW's is partly due to the proposal
Micromagnetism in URu2Si2 and high temperature superconductors
It has been proposed, that unconventional density waves (UDW) are possible candidates for systems with hidden order parameter. Unlike in conventional density waves, no periodic modulation of either
PSEUDOGAP PHENOMENA AND THE DENSITY WAVES IN HIGH-Tc CUPRATES
We consider the density waves as possible explanations for the pseudogap in high temperature cuprate superconductors. Both the conventional spin density wave (SDW) and the unconventional d-density
Impurity effects in unconventional density waves in the unitary limit
We investigate the effect of strong, nonmagnetic impurities on quasi-one-dimensional conventional and unconventional density waves (UDW). The conventional case remains unaffected similarly to s-wave
UNCONVENTIONAL SPIN DENSITY WAVE IN (TMTSF)2PF6 BELOW T = 4.2 K
It is well documented that SDW in (TMTSF)2PF6 undergoes another phase transition at T* ≈ 4 K, though the nature of the new phase has not been identified. In particular the angular dependence of the
Large- N limit of a magnetic impurity in unconventional density waves
We investigate the effect of unconventional density wave (UDW) condensate on an Anderson impurity using large-$N$ technique at $T=0$. In accordance with previous treatments of a Kondo impurity in
Weak magnetism phenomena in heavy-fermion superconductors: selected µSR studies
The behaviour of the so-called weak-moment antiferromagnetic states, observed in the heavy-fermion superconductors UPt3 and URu2Si2, is discussed in view of recent ?SR results obtained as functions
Two-particle self-consistent approach to unconventional superconductivity
A nonperturbative approach to unconventional superconductivity is developed based on the idea of two-particle self-consistent (TPSC) theory by Vilk and Tremblay. A sum rule, which the
Pseudogap enhancement due to magnetic impurities in d-density waves
We study the effect of quantum magnetic impurities on d-wave spin density waves (d-SDW). The impurity spins are aligned coherently according to the spin space anisotropy of the condensate. Both the
