The theory of the transition to design leadership and management positions was developed from emergent themes outlined in the previous two chapters in this book. The theory is in the form of five propositions, which relate to the five levels of the case study respectively. The five levels of the design leadership transition theory are: Level 1 Self-cultivation; Level 2 Developing expertise; Level 3 Grooming talents; Level 4 Building industry and community; and Level 5 Improving policies.
