A model for valve flutter is presented. Using classical theory oi stability the onset of flutter could be predicted. Stability diagram s are presented, which enable the valve designer to take in at glanc e the flutter situation of a certain valve by a simple procedure. Fl utter experiments with an enlarged model and with compressor valves ar e discussed, which confirm the flutter model. A similarity theory for non steady compressor behaviour is outlined. A Comparative Study Of Different Numerical Models For Flapper Valve Motion
Flapper valve design is critical for the reliability of a compressor and the performance of a compressor further the valve has to perform well under several operating conditions. However the movementExpand
A Simple Valve Model to Study the Performance of a Small Compressor
Reed valves in many small compressors arc usually activated automatically by pressure differences across the valve. These valves arc sometime called automatic valves. They have a very simple geometryExpand

Influence of the valve-seat gap on the dynamics of reed type valves
Abstract One of the main parts of refrigeration compressors is the automatic valve system used to control the suction and discharge processes. Experimental studies of these processes in theExpand
Understanding Valve Dynamics
TLDR
The objective of this paper, that deals with modeling dynamics of self-acting compressor valves, is not a creation of a model that produces charts and diagrams that perfectly agree with the experiment, but to provide understanding and deeper insight into the function ofSelf-acted compressor valves. Numerical and Experimental Analysis of the Flow Characteristics Through a Channel Valve
An experimental and numerical study of compressor channel valves was performed tor _low pressure air flows at a Reynolds number based on the inlet slot width (Res)-2x104 . The objective was toExpand
Flow-Induced Flutter of a Hanging Banner : A Configuration for Validation of Computational Models
Flow-induced flutter of elastic membranes presents interesting flow-structure interaction physics. Recent advances in computational modeling and computing power are enabling simulation of suchExpand
MODELLING VALVE DYNAMICS AND FLOW IN RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS
Reciprocating compressors are widely employed in a number of industry and transportation branches, and it can be freely stated that some of the applications would hardly be possible without this typeExpand
