Adenosine is known to cause bradyarrhythmias, such as atrioventricular conduction delay [1]. Substantial evidence from laboratory animals [2] affirms that endogenous adenosine may play a mechanistic role in bradyarrhythmias associated with myocardial ischemia, hypoxia, or both.
