We systematically calculate the quantum extremal surface (QES) associated with Hawking radiation for general D-dimensional (D ≥ 2) asymptotically flat (or AdS) eternal black holes using the island formula. By adopting the standard ”black hole couples thermal baths” model, we find that a QES exists in the near-horizon region outside the black hole when c ·G(D) is smaller enough where c is the central charge of the conformal matter and G(D) the Newton constant. The locations of the QES in these…

Entropy of Hawking Radiation for Two-Sided Hyperscaling Violating Black Branes
In this paper, we study the von Neumann entropy of Hawking radiation SR for a d + 2dimensional Hyperscaling Violating (HV) black brane which is coupled to two Minkowski spacetimes as the thermal

We study the Page curve and the information paradox for the BTZ black hole which is coupled to two thermal baths by applying the island paradigm. We prove that as the island locates outside the event
Entanglement Phase Structure of a Holographic BCFT in a Black Hole Background
We compute holographic entanglement entropy for subregions of a BCFT thermal state living on a nongravitating black hole background. The system we consider is doubly holographic and dual to an

Islands in Kaluza-Klein black holes
The newly proposed island formula for entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation is applied to spherically symmetric 4-dimensional eternal Kaluza-Klein (KK) black holes (BHs). The "charge" Q of a KK
Page Curves and Islands in Charged Dilaton Black Holes
We study the Page curve in the four dimensional asymptotically flat eternal GarfinkleHorowitz-Strominger dilaton black holes by applying the “quantum extremal surface” prescription. The results
Islands and Page curves of Reissner-Nordström black holes
We apply the recently proposed quantum extremal surface construction to calculate the Page curve of the eternal Reissner-Nordstrom black holes in four dimensions ignoring the backreaction and the
Thermodynamics of black holes in two (and higher) dimensions
A comprehensive treatment of black hole thermodynamics in two-dimensional dilaton gravity is presented. We derive an improved action for these theories and construct the Euclidean path integral. An
Holographic BCFTs and communicating black holes
We study the AdS/BCFT duality between two-dimensional conformal field theories with two boundaries and three-dimensional anti-de Sitter space with two Karch-Randall branes. We compute the
Entanglement entropy and Page curve of black holes with island in massive gravity
By applying the island rule proposed recently, we compute the entanglement entropy of the Hawking radiation and study the Page curve for the eternal black holes in massive gravity. We investigate for
Evaporating black holes coupled to a thermal bath
We study the doubly holographic model of [1] in the situation where a black hole in two-dimensional JT gravity theory is coupled to an auxiliary bath system at arbitrary finite temperature. Depending
Islands outside the horizon
We consider an AdS$_2$ black hole in equilibrium with a bath, which we take to have a dual description as (0+1)-dimensional quantum mechanical system coupled to a (1+1)-dimensional field theory
String Theory and Black Holes
This thesis aims to make precise the microscopic understanding of Hawking radiation from the D1/D5 black hole. We present an explict construction of all the shortmultiplets of the ${\cal N}=(4,4)$
Thermodynamics of black holes in anti-de Sitter space
The Einstein equations with a negative cosmological constant admit black hole solutions which are asymptotic to anti-de Sitter space. Like black holes in asymptotically flat space, these solutions
