I. Violence and terror are as old as the human race. Terrorism is a type of violence which, as B. Holyst has noted1, is a fairly new and has “developed” in the contemporary world. In his opinion, what contributed to the expansion of terrorism was technological progress and growth of the mass media. “After all, what the perpetrators of such acts want most of all is to gain publicity” and to instill fear in a large number of people.
