The Leptodactylus marmoratus species group, as currently recognized (Almeida & Angulo 2006), is composed of fifteen nominal species (Frost 2013). Tadpoles of eight species have been described, including species awaiting formal descriptions (e.g. Kokubum & Giaretta 2005). The tadpoles of this species group can be divided into two types: exotrophic tadpoles with aquatic development (e.g. Leptodactylus thomei ; Almeida & Angulo 2006) and endotrophic tadpoles with terrestrial development (e.g…
Taxonomic circumscription of Adenomera martinezi (Bokermann, 1956) (Anura: Leptodactylidae: Leptodactylinae) with the recognition of a new cryptic taxon through a bioacoustic approach.
TLDR
This paper provides a taxonomic circumscription of Adenomera martinezi from its type locality (Cachimbo, southwestern State of Pará) based on a newly collected series of eleven adult topotypes, and recognizes an undescribed cryptic taxon under this nominal species, which is widely distributed in central and northern Brazil.
A New Cryptic Species of the Adenomera andreae Clade from Southwestern Amazonia (Anura, Leptodactylidae)
TLDR
A new Amazonian species of Adenomera is described that corresponds to one of the acoustic signals and morphs from Tambopata National Reserve and to a confirmed candidate species in the most recently published phylogeny for the genus.
Population structure and activity pattern of one species of Adenoma Steindachner, 1867 (Anura: Leptodactylidae) in northeastern Brazil
We analyzed the population structure and sexual size dimorphism of an Adenomera species occurring in the municipality of Sao Goncalo do Amarante, from September 2010 to August 2011, using pitfall
Amphibians on Amazonian Land-Bridge Islands are Affected More by Area Than Isolation
River damming has created fragmented landscapes in parts of the Amazon basin. The resulting decrease in forest area could directly affect amphibian species if large areas of habitat are required to
