BACKGROUND The diversity of platelet functions implies multiple activation states arising in response to different stimuli. Distinguishing between these states has been challenging. METHODS We used fluorescently labelled carbohydrate binding proteins lectins to investigate agonist-induced changes in platelet surface glycosylation.
