The surgical treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy

Abstract

A prospective study has been carried out on 63 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Both the anterior and posterior approaches have been used, and indications and results for such operations assessed. With such a combined approach, 80% have been greatly improved, 11% moderately improved, and 8% unchanged, with 1% dying.
