Context: A large sample of pulsars has been observed to study their subpulse modulation at an observing wavelength (when achievable) of both 21 and 92 cm using the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope. In this paper we present the 92-cm data and a comparison is made with the already published 21-cm results. Aims: The main goals are to determine what fraction of the pulsars have drifting subpulses, whether those pulsars share some physical properties and to find out if subpulse modulation…
Characterizing the nature of subpulse drifting in pulsars
We report a detailed study of subpulse drifting in four long period pulsars. These pulsars were observed in the Meterwavelength Single-pulse Polarimetric Emission Survey and the presence of phase
Frequency dependence in the emission from subpulse drifting pulsars
We investigate relations in the emission properties as revealed by drifting subpulses detected at different observing frequencies based on the method that incorporates the rotating carousels in
Exploring the remarkable subpulse drift and polarization properties of PSR B0818−41
PSR B0818 41 is one of the few pulsars which show multiple drift regions having well defined phase relationship. In this paper we report new resul ts from the multifrequency observations of this
Multifrequency Study of Periodic Nulling and Subpulse Drifting in Pulsar J2048−1616
We have carried out a detailed study of single-pulse emission from the pulsar J2048−1616 (B2045−16), observed at 732, 1369, and 3100 MHz frequencies using the Parkes 64 m radio telescope. The pulsar
Subpulse modulation, moding and nulling of the five-component pulsar B1737+13
Recent Arecibo polarimetric observations of the bright five-component pulsar B1737+13 have facilitated a comprehensive analysis of its pulse-sequence modulation phenomena for the first time. The
Variability, polarimetry, and timing properties of single pulses from PSR J1713+0747 using the Large European Array for Pulsars
Single pulses preserve information about the pulsar radio emission and propagation in the pulsar magnetosphere, and understanding the behaviour of their variability is essential for estimating the
Pulse to pulse flux density modulation from pulsars at 8.35 GHz
Aims. To investigate the flux density modulation from pulsars and the existence of specific behaviour of modulation index versus frequency. Methods. Several pulsars have been observed with the
Investigation of the bi-drifting subpulses of radio pulsar B1839-04 utilising the open-source data-analysis project PSRSALSA
The usefulness and versatility of the PSRSALSA open-source pulsar data-analysis project is demonstrated through an analysis of the radio pulsar B1839-04. This study focuses on the phenomenon of
Classification of subpulse drifting in pulsars
In this study we propose a classification scheme for the phenomenon of subpulse drifting in pulsars. We have assembled an exhaustive list of pulsars which exhibit subpulse drifting from previously
Simultaneous multi-frequency single pulse observations of pulsars
We performed simultaneous observations at 326.5 MHz with the Ooty Radio Telescope and at 326, 610 and 1308 MHz with the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope for a sample of 12 pulsars, where frequency

The subpulse modulation properties of pulsars at 21 cm
We present the results of a systematic, unbiased search for subpulse modulation of 187 pulsars performed with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT) in the Netherlands at an observing
Pulsar fluctuation spectra and the generalized drifting-subpulse phenomenon. II
S>The variation with longitude of the fluctuation spectrum of pulsar radio emission from a fired longitude is discussed for 13 pulsars. In particular, features in the fluctuation spectra are
Pulse-to-pulse intensity modulation and drifting subpulses in recycled pulsars
We report the detection of pulse-to-pulse periodic intensity modulations, in observations of recycled pulsars. Even though the detection of individual pulses was generally not possible due to their
The frequency-dependence of drifting subpulse patterns
Drifting subpulse patterns in pulsar signals are frequently interpreted in terms of a model in which a rotating ring of sparks on the polar cap gives rise to emission from regions of the
The polarization of drifting subpulses
Using new techniques based on the polarimetric fluctuation spectrum, the fluctuation behaviour of the polarization of individual pulses is examined in three pulsars that show drifting subpulses,
The main-interpulse interaction of PSR B1702-19
Aims. This paper reports on single-pulse radio observations of PSR B1702-19 and their implications for pulsar emission theories. Methods: These observations were made with the Westerbork Synthesis
Observations of Nonradial Pulsations in Radio Pulsars
We introduce a model for pulsars in which nonradial oscillations of high spherical degree (l) aligned to the magnetic axis of a spinning neutron star reproduce the morphological features of pulsar
Fluctuation properties and polar emission mapping of pulsar B0834+06 at decametre wavelengths
Recent results regarding subpulse drift in pulsar B0943 + 10 have led to the identification of a stable system of sub-beams circulating around the magnetic axis of the star. Here, we present
Drifting sub-pulse analysis using the two-dimensional Fourier transform
The basic form of drifting sub-pulses is that of a periodicity whose phase depends (approximately linearly) on both pulse longitude and pulse number. As such, we argue that the two-dimensional
Using the intensity modulation index to test pulsar radio emission models
This Letter explores the possibility of testing pulsar radio emission models by observing pulse-to-pulse intensity modulation. It is shown that a relationship between a pulsar's period, period
