Abstract

The archaeal toxin, aRelE, in the hyperthermophilic archaeon Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3 inhibits protein synthesis, whereas its cognate antitoxin, aRelB, neutralizes aRelE activity by forming a non-toxic complex, aRelB-aRelE.
