Pseudoperonospora cubensis is common throughout the world onCucumis crops (cucumber, melon); less common onCucurbita crops (squash, pumpkin, marrow), from which it is absent in Europe and parts of Asia; and more restricted onCitrullus, Luffu andLagenaria spp. This divergence in distribution is due chiefly to different physiological races in various countries.
