The short child: clinical assessment and treatment.

Abstract

In the majority of cases, short stature is due to normal physiological variations in growth and maturation. However, there are a significant number of other causes, some of which are amenable to treatment. This article reviews the clinical assessment and investigation of the short child in order to identify those children who might benefit from treatment.
