Recently, it was suggested that large concentrations or groups of quasars may trace sites of enhanced matter density at medium and high redshifts analogous to how galaxy clusters trace them in nearby space. We have checked existing quasar data for the presence of such groups. Large Quasar Groups (LQGs) were identified using a well-known cluster analysis technique. Our final list consists of 12 groups, including one reported previously. Most of the quasars in these groups come from deep…

LARGE SDSS QUASAR GROUPS AND THEIR STATISTICAL SIGNIFICANCE

We use a volume-limited sample of quasars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) DR7 quasar catalog to identify quasar groups and address their statistical significance. This quasar sample has a

Detection of the first X-ray selected large AGN group

We have examined the spatial distribution of 856 AGN detected by the ROSAT All-Sky Survey (RASS) using a direct search for structures with the minimal spanning tree. The AGNs were compiled from an

Abstract We study the cosmic web at redshifts 1.0 ≤ ≤ 1.8 using quasar systems based on quasar data from the SDSS DR7 QSO catalogue. Quasar systems were determined with a friend-of-friend (FoF)

Investigation of homogeneity and matter distribution on large scales using large quasar groups

We use 12 large quasar group (LQG) samples to investigate the homogeneity of $0.5\lesssim z \lesssim 2$ Universe ($z$ denotes the redshift). We calculate the bias factor $b$ and the two-point

An I-Band-selected Sample of Radio-emitting Quasars: Evidence for a Large Population of Red Quasars

We have constructed a sample of quasar candidates by comparing the FIRST radio survey with the 16 deg2 Deeprange I-band survey carried out by Postman and coworkers. Spectroscopic follow-up of this

Large-scale fluctuations in the number density of galaxies in independent surveys of deep fields

New arguments supporting the reality of large-scale fluctuations in the density of the visible matter in deep galaxy surveys are presented. A statistical analysis of the radial distributions of

A giant ring-like structure at 0.78

According to the cosmological principle, Universal large-scale structure is homogeneous and isotropic. The observable Universe, however, shows complex structures even on very large scales. The recent

List, the Structure, and Chemistry of Neutrinium Elements of Light Matter

Light Matter (LM) is a substance composed of light nuclei of neutrinium (NN) with a mass of 1 to several tens of MeV. It is assumed that neutrinos are able to form short-lived Cooper pairs, some of

On the nature of filaments of the large-scale structure of the Universe

Observed properties of filaments which dominate in large-scale structure of the Universe are considered. A part from these properties isn't described within the standard ΛCDM cosmological model. The
