Approximately two thirds of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms have substantial coronary artery disease [1]. The 30-day operative mortality rate is increased threefold in patients who have symptomatic, uncorrected coronary artery disease compared with patients who do not have evident coronary artery disease [2].
