The dorsal cap and ventrolateral outgrowth of the inferior olive are involved in the control of eye movements. The caudal dorsal cap is predominantly involved in the horizontal optokinetic reflex; it receives most of its GABAergic input from the nucleus prepositus hypoglossi.
