A bstractWe investigate the role of leptons in electroweak baryogenesis by studying a relatively simple framework inspired by effective field theory that satisfies all Sakharov conditions. In particular, we study the effectiveness of CP-violating source terms induced by dimension-six Yukawa interactions for quarks and charged leptons. Despite the relatively small Yukawa coupling, CP-violating source terms involving taus are quite effective and can account for the observed matter-antimatter… Expand

Electroweak baryogenesis from light fermion sources: a critical study
Electroweak baryogenesis (EWBG) is sourced by nonstandard CP -violating interactions of the Higgs boson with fermions, usually taken to be the top quark, enhanced by its large Yukawa coupling.Expand

The generality of the arguments rules out any mechanism of electroweak baryogenesis that does not make use of a new source of [ital CP] violation and concludes the QCD damping effects reduce the asymmetry produced to a negligible amount. Expand

Nonlocal electroweak baryogenesis. I. Thin wall regime.
This paper gives an analytic treatment of quantum mechanical reflection in the thin wall regime, in which interactions with the plasma can be neglected as a particle propagates across the wall, and calculates the baryon asymmetry for various parameter ranges and concludes that asymmetries comparable with observations can be generated.
