Laparoscopic lymphadenectomy was performed on 18 patients with invasive carcinoma of the cervix prior to definitive radiation therapy and/or radical hysterectomy. Ten patients underwent pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomies prior to planned radiotherapy. Two of these patients had grossly positive pelvic nodes, and one had a microscopically positive para-aortic node.
