Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an immunoregulatory cytokine that plays a crucial role in inflammatory and immune reactions. It has potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activities on myeloid cell functions which forms a solid basis for its use in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases.
