This research project was designed as an exploratory study to examine the relationships among parenting styles of caregivers, children's empathy, and certain problematic behaviors in children and young adolescents. The measures used included the Adult-Adolescent Parenting Index 2, the Empathy Tendency Index, and the Child Behavior Checklist.
