Contractile proteins are thought to play a causative role in motile processes such as phagocytosis. In order to investigate their role in phagocytosis further, simultaneous immunofluorescence localization of F-actin and myosin was carried out in resident mouse peritoneal macrophages after phagocytosis of opsonized zymosan particles.
