A statistical analysis of the space-time distribution of absorption-line systems (ALSs) observed in QSO spectra within the cosmological redshift interval z = 0.0-3.7 is carried out on the base of our catalogue of absorption systems (Ryabinkov et al. 2003). We confirm our previous conclusion that the z-distribution of absorbing matter contains non-uniform component displaying a pattern of statistically significant alternating maxima (peaks) and minima (dips). Using the wavelet transformation, we… Expand

Large-scale periodicity in the distribution of QSO absorption-line systems
The spatial-temporal distribution of absorption-line systems (ALSs) observed in QSO spectra within the cosmological redshift interval z=0.0–4.3 is investigated on the base of our updated catalog ofExpand
Quasi-periodical components in the radial distributions of cosmologically remote objects
ABSTRACT A statisticalanalysisofradial(line-of-sight)1D-distributionsofbrightestclustergalax-ies (BCGs) within the redshift interval 0.044 6z 60.78 and Mg II absorption-linesystems (0.37 6 z 6 2.28)Expand
A SINFONI integral field spectroscopy survey for galaxy counterparts to damped Lyman α systems – III. Three additional detections
We report three additional Spectrograph for Integral Field Observations in the Near Infrared (SINFONI) detections of Hα emission line from quasar absorbers, two of which are new identifications.Expand
Absence of a periodic component in the quasar z distribution
The presence of a periodic component in the quasar distribution over redshift z is investigated. The periodicity is analysed for the coordinate ln(1 + z) and for the geodesic cosmological distanceExpand
Cosmological Signature of Tachyon Condensation
We consider the dynamics of the open string tachyon condensation in a framework of the cubic fermionic String Field Theory including a non-minimal coupling with closed string massless modes, theExpand
Tachyon condensation as a cosmological model

Cosmological variations in the space-time distribution of absorption systems in quasar spectra
Based on the catalog of Junkkarinen et al. (1991), we analyze the space-time distribution of absorption systems in quasar spectra at cosmological redshifts z=0–3.7. The z distribution of absorbingExpand
The Distribution of Redshifts in New Samples of Quasi-stellar Objects
Two new samples of QSOs have been constructed from recent surveys to test the hypothesis that the redshift distribution of bright QSOs is periodic in log (1 + z). The first of these comprises 57Expand
Critical Examinations of QSO Redshift Periodicities and Associations with Galaxies in Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data
We have used the publicly available data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and 2dF QSO redshift survey to test the hypothesis that QSOs are ejected from active galaxies with periodic noncosmologicalExpand
Detection of the baryon acoustic peak in the large-scale correlation function of SDSS luminous red galaxies
We present the large-scale correlation function measured from a spectroscopic sample of 46,748 luminous red galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The survey region covers 0.72h −3 Gpc 3 overExpand
Selection Effects in the Redshift Distribution of Gamma-Ray Bursts and Associated Quasi-stellar Objects and Active Galaxies
Redshift distributions of extragalactic objects have been suggested to exhibit periodicities. But based on which periodicities are claimed, peaks and troughs have been shown to be artifacts ofExpand
Redshift distribution of Lyα lines and metal systems
The observed redshift distribution of Lyα lines and metal systems is examined in order to discriminate and to trace the evolution of structure elements observed in the galaxy distribution, at smallExpand
Evolution of Structure in the Intergalactic Medium and the Nature of the Lyα Forest
We have performed a detailed statistical study of the evolution of structure in a photoionized intergalactic medium (IGM) using analytical simulations to extend the calculation into the mildlyExpand
The Sources of Gamma-Ray Bursts and Their Connections with QSOs and Active Galaxies
It is shown that the redshifts zo of ?-ray burst (GRB) sources, where they have been measured, together with the redshifts for seven quasars (QSOs) that lie very close to the positions of theExpand
The detection of periodicity in QSO data sets
The issue of periodicity in quasi-stellar object (QSO) data sets is re-examined in the light of the failure to detect a periodicity in the 2dF QSO Redshift Survey, and of a recent claim that edgeExpand
