 Molecular data on Potato mop-top virus (PMTV), genus Pomovirus, is currently mostly based on analysis of two Scottish isolates, PMTV-S and PMTV-T. Here we report the complete sequence of “the coat protein (CP) encoding RNA” of an isolate of PMTV obtained from the field in Sweden. Our data show that this RNA (3134 nt) is the second largest of the three RNA species in the tripartite PMTV genome, and it should, therefore, be referred to as RNA 2.
