We subjected 106 new high-resolution spectra of the double-lined spectroscopic close binary e Lup, obtained in a time-span of 17 days from two different observatories, to a detailed study of orbital and intrinsic variations. We derived accurate values of the orbital parameters. We refined the sidereal orbital period to 4. 55970 days and the eccentricity to e = 0.277. By adding old radial velocities, we discovered the presence of apsidal motion with a period of the rotation of apses of about 430…
A high-resolution spectroscopy survey of β Cephei pulsations in bright stars
We present a study of absorption line-profile variations in early-B type near-main-sequence stars without emission lines. We have surveyed a total of 171 bright stars using the Nordic Optical
Long-baseline interferometric multiplicity survey of the Sco-Cen OB association
We present the rst multiplicity-dedicated long baseline optical interferometric survey of the Scorpius-Centaurus-Lupus-Crux association. We used the Sydney University Stellar Interferometer to
ϵ Lupi: measuring the heartbeat of a doubly magnetic massive binary with BRITE Constellation
ϵ Lupi A is a binary system consisting of two main-sequence early B-type stars Aa and Ab in a short period, moderately eccentric orbit. The close binary pair is the only doubly magnetic massive
Detection of magnetic fields in both B-type components of the ϵ Lupi system: a new constraint on the origin of fossil fields?
High-resolution circular spectropolarimetric observations, obtained with ESPaDOnS in the context of the BinaMIcS Large Program, have revealed a magnetic field in the B3V secondary component of the
On the separation of component spectra in binary and higher-multiplicity stellar systems: bias progression and spurious patterns
Context. Powerful methods are available to reconstruct the spectra of stars in orbit around each other, using a time-series of observed, composite spectra. They act either on the Fourier components
Recent spectropolarimetric studies of seven slowly pulsating B (SPB) and β Cep stars have suggested that photospheric magnetic fields are more common in B-type pulsators than in the general
A magnetic confinement versus rotation classification of massive-star magnetospheres
Building on results from the Magnetism in Massive Stars (MiMeS) project, this paper shows how a two-parameter classification of massive-star magnetospheres in terms of the magnetic wind confinement
The magnetic early B-type Stars II: stellar atmospheric parameters in the era ofGaia
Atmospheric parameters determined via spectral modelling are unavailable for many of the known magnetic early B-type stars. We utilized high-resolution spectra together with NLTE models to measure
Fossil field decay due to nonlinear tides in massive binaries
Context.Surface magnetic fields have been detected in 5–10% of isolated massive stars, hosting outer radiative envelopes. They are often thought to have a fossil origin, resulting from the stellar
Magnetic B stars observed with BRITE: Spots, magnetospheres, binarity, and pulsations
Magnetic B-type stars exhibit photometric variability due to diverse causes, and consequently on a variety of timescales. In this paper we describe interpretation of BRITE photometry and related

Apsidal motion and non-radial pulsations in psi(2) Ori
We present a time series of high-resolution echelle spectra of the double-lined close binary ψ 2 Ori. The spectra sample the wavelength region of 3800-6800 A. In the absorption lines of the early-B
Disentangling component spectra of κ Scorpii, a spectroscopic binary with a pulsating primary. II. Interpretation of the line-profile variability
We analyse the complex short-term Si  line-profile variability of the spectroscopic binary β Cep star κ Sco after orbit subtraction, before and after spectral disentangling. We refine the known
Theδ Scuti star XX Pyx is an ellipsoidal variable
We present spectroscopic and multicolour photometric evidence supporting the binary nature of the δ Scuti star XX Pyx (CD–24 7599). Applying a cross-correlation technique to the spectra, we find
Rotation, pulsations and magnetic field in V 2052 Ophiuchi: A new He-strong star
V 2052 Oph is a β Cep star with v sini ∼ 60 km s −1 . The behavior of its stellar wind was studied in the ultraviolet wavelength region with the IUE satellite. It revealed periodic variations in the
Disentangling component spectra of κ Sco, a spectroscopic binary with a pulsating primary. I. Improved physical elements and analysis of periodic rapid variations of scalar quantities
A new reduction and a new analysis of a rich series of high-S/N spectra of the bright star κ Sco is carried out to test the technique of spectral disentangling in the case when one of the components
Discovery and analysis of p-mode and g-mode oscillations in the A-type primary of the eccentric binary HD 209295
We have discovered both intermediate-order gravity mode and low-order pressure mode pulsation in the same star, HD 209295. It is therefore both a γ Doradus and a δ Scuti star, which makes it the
New results on the apsidal-motion test to stellar structure and evolution including the effects of dynamic tides
We revised the current status of the apsidal-motion test to stellar structure and evolution. The obser- vational sample was increased by about 50% in comparison to previous studies. Classical and
A Spectroscopic Search for Non-Radial Pulsations in Early B-Type Stars
It is known that early-B type main-sequence stars can be unstable against pulsations induced by the n mechanism. Traditionally, radial and low-degree non-radial B Cephei-like pulsations have been
β Cep stars from a spectroscopic point of view
In this review we present the current status of line-profile-variation studies of β Cep stars. Such studies have been performed for 26 bright members of this class of pulsating stars in the past 25
A study of bright southern slowly pulsating B stars. II. The intrinsic frequencies
We present the results of detailed frequency analyses of a sample of thirteen confirmed slowly pulsating B stars. Our analysis is based on a combination of elaborate photometric and spectroscopic
