The new method, utilizing “lead citrate” as capture reagent, for the ultracytochemical demonstration of non-specific alkaline phosphatase activity at high alkaline ranges of pH was introduced. Results obtained by the new “lead citrate” method in various tissues of the rat were presented and discussed in connection with observations made by other methods. The method can be used at the light microscopic level also.
