Ochratoxin A (OTA), a known nephrotoxin and carcinogenic mycotoxin, was investigated to examine its effectiveness to induce cytotoxicity and DNA damage (Comet assay), as well as its possible inhibition of topoisomerase II (topo II) catalytic activity in cultured Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells.
