E ndothelial cells, that form the early vascular plexus during embryo development, progress through a number of fate transitions until they achieve their highly differentiated adult state. At early stages of embryonic development, cells that will form the primitive vasculature exhibit a primordial, non-specialized endothelial phenotype.
