The incubation of 15beta-hydroxy-3-oxo-ent-kaur-16-ene (1) with the fungus Gibberella fujikuroi afforded 11beta-hydroxy-3,15-dioxo-ent-kaurane (6), 11beta,15beta-dihydroxy-3-oxo-ent-kaur-16-ene (8), 7beta,11beta,15beta-trihydroxy-3-oxo-ent-kaur-16-ene (9), 7alpha,11beta-dihydroxy-3,15-dioxo-ent-kaurane (7), and 7alpha,11beta,15beta-trihydroxy-3-oxo-ent-kaur-16-ene (10). The incubation of 15beta-hydroxy-ent-kaur-2,16-diene (3) with the same fungus yielded 7alpha,11beta-dihydroxy-15-oxo-ent-kaur…

Tables from this paper

Two new natural products from Croton kongensis Gagnep.
TLDR
A new diterpenoid and a new nor-lignan, 8S-( − )-8-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoyl)-dihydrofuran-8(8′H)-one (4), along with five known compounds were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Croton kongensis Gagnep.
New stereoisomeric derivatives of jasmonic acid generated by biotransformation with the fungus Gibberella fujikuroi affect the viability of human cancer cells
TLDR
This work shows for the by first time the production of hydroxylated derivatives of JA by biotransformation and suggests that it, as other jasmonate compounds, is able to trigger apoptotic death in cancer cells.
Constituents from Chloranthus multistachys and their cytotoxic activities against various human cancer cell lines.
Two new furanoeremophilane sesquiterpenoids, namely, 6,9-dioxo-1α,4α-dihydroxy-furanoeremophilane (1) and 4α,5α-epoxy-6,9-dioxo-1α-hydroxyl-furanoeremophilane (2), and 10 known compounds were
The Remarkable Structural Diversity Achieved in ent-Kaurane Diterpenes by Fungal Biotransformations
TLDR
In this review, selected examples the wonderful chemical diversity produced by fungi in kaurane diterpenes is presented, which includes mainly hydroxylation of nearly all carbon atoms of the kurane molecule, many of them carried out stereoselectively, as well as ring rearrangements, among other chemical modifications.
Exploiting a Step in Diterpenoid Biosynthesis by the Fungus Fusarium Fujikuroi
The scope of the microbiological transformation of ent-kaurenoid diterpenes by the fungus Fusarium (Gibberella) fujikuroi which utilise the ent-kaurene and ent-kauren-19-oic acid oxidases and the
Occurrence, biological activities and synthesis of kaurane diterpenes and their glycosides.
This paper presents a review on kaurane diterpenes and their glycoside derivatives, covering aspects of their occurrence, biological activities and the synthesis of these natural products and their
Biotransformation of diterpenes
TLDR
This report reviews reactions mediated by fungi, published between 2000 and 2013, and special attention has been paid to the biotransformation of diterpenes over the past years.
The Chemistry of Fungi
TLDR
The chemistry of growing fungi is studied to derive metabolites derived from amino acids and polyketides from fungi.
