Latex particles can be sensitized by 7S gamma globulin as well as by aggregated gamma globulin. The excess of gamma globulin not on the particle surface may act as an inhibitor of agglutination if it is in the aggregated state. Studies are presented to demonstrate the sensitizing capacity of various human gamma globulin preparations for latex particles.
