Atmospheric parameters determined via spectral modelling are unavailable for many of the known magnetic early B-type stars. We utilized high-resolution spectra together with NLTE models to measure effective temperatures $T_{\rm eff}$ and surface gravities $\log{g}$ of stars for which these measurements are not yet available. We find good agreement between our $T_{\rm eff}$ measurements and previous results obtained both photometrically and spectroscopically. For $\log{g}$, our results are… Expand

Spectropolarimetric follow-up of 8 rapidly rotating, X-ray bright FK Comae candidates
• Physics

Our understanding of the evolved, rapidly rotating, magnetically active, and apparently single FK Comae stars is significantly hindered by their extreme rarity: only two stars in addition to FK ComExpand
The magnetic early B-type stars – III. A main-sequence magnetic, rotational, and magnetospheric biography
Magnetic confinement of stellar winds leads to the formation of magnetospheres, which can be sculpted into centrifugal magnetospheres (CMs) by rotational support of the corotating plasma. TheExpand
Strongly magnetic Ap stars in the Gaia DR2 Hertzsprung-Russell diagram

The effects of surface fossil magnetic fields on massive star evolution – II. Implementation of magnetic braking in mesa and implications for the evolution of surface rotation in OB stars
The time evolution of angular momentum and surface rotation of massive stars is strongly influenced by fossil magnetic fields via magnetic braking. We present a new module containing a simple,Expand

ϵ Lupi A is a binary system consisting of two main-sequence early B-type stars Aa and Ab in a short period, moderately eccentric orbit. The close binary pair is the only doubly magnetic massiveExpand
Detection of Coherent Emission from the Bp Star HD 142990 at uGMRT Frequencies
• Physics
• The Astrophysical Journal
• 2019
HD 142990 is a Bp-type star with a nearly dipolar surface magnetic field of kG strength. Recently Lenc et al. (2018) reported the tentative discovery of Electron Cyclotron Maser Emission (ECME) fromExpand
The fifth main-sequence magnetic B-type star showing coherent radio emission: Is this really a rare phenomenon?
• Physics
• Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: Letters
• 2019
We report the discovery of intense, highly directional radio emission from the Bp star HD 35298, which we interpret as the consequence of Electron Cyclotron Maser Emission (ECME). The star wasExpand
The magnetic early B-type stars – IV. Breakout or leakage? H α emission as a diagnostic of plasma transport in centrifugal magnetospheres
Rapidly rotating early-type stars with strong magnetic fields frequently show H$\alpha$ emission originating in Centrifugal Magnetospheres (CMs), circumstellar structures in which centrifugal supportExpand
