We study skyrmions in the littlest Higgs model and discuss their possible role as dark matter candidates. Stable massive skyrmions can exist in the littlest Higgs model also in absence of an exact parity symmetry, since they carry a conserved topological charge due to the non-trivial third homotopy group of the SU(5)/SO(5) coset. We find a spherically symmetric skyrmion solution in this coset. The effects of gauge fields on the skyrmion solutions are analyzed and found to lead to an upper bound…

Dangerous skyrmions in little Higgs models

A bstractSkyrmions are present in many models of electroweak symmetry breaking where the Higgs is a pseudo-oldstone boson of some strongly interacting sector. They are stable, composite objects whose

Partially composite dark matter

A bstractIn a class of theories where the Higgs field emerges as a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson, it is often assumed that interactions to generate the top Yukawa coupling provide the Higgs potential

A Higgs portal and a neutrino portal for very heavy Skyrmion dark matter are discussed as a means to circumvent the problem of generically low annihilation cross sections of very heavy dark matter particles.

The emergence of electroweak Skyrmions through Higgs bosons

Abstract Skyrmions are extended field configurations, initially proposed to describe baryons as topological solitons in an effective field theory of mesons. We investigate and confirm the existence

Electroweak-Skyrmion as topological dark matter

A bstractWe show the existence of a nontrivial topological configuration of the Higgs field in the Standard Model with the Skyrme term. It is shown that the current upper bound of the mass of the

Topological Dark Matter from the Theory of Composite Electroweak Symmetry Breaking

The lightest electroweak baryon as a topological object is investigated by using a general effective Lagrangian of composite electroweak symmetry breaking and the spin-independent electroweak

Direct search constraints on very heavy dark skyrmions

In the standard dark matter creation scenario, dark matter arises from freeze-out due to decoupling from the thermal heat bath in the early universe. On the other hand, topological solitons can also

Phenomenology and cosmology of an electroweak pseudo-dilaton and electroweak baryons

A bstractIn many strongly-interacting models of electroweak symmetry breaking the lowest-lying observable particle is a pseudo-Goldstone boson of approximate scale symmetry, the pseudo-dilaton. Its

Topological terms in Composite Higgs models

A bstractWe apply a recent classification of topological action terms to Composite Higgs models based on a variety of coset spaces G/H and discuss their phenomenology. The topological terms, which

Topological dark matter in little Higgs models

We show that certain little Higgs models with symmetry breaking SU(N){yields}SO(N) for N{>=}4 admit topologically stable solitons that may contribute to cosmological dark matter. We have constructed

The decay of the skyrmion

Scalar Dark Matter From Theory Space

The scalar dark matter candidate in a prototypical theory space little Higgs model is investigated. We review all details of the model pertinent to a relic density calculation. We perform a thermal

Stable skyrmions from extra dimensions

We show that skyrmions arising from compact five dimensional models have stable sizes. We numerically obtain the skyrmion configurations and calculate their size and energy. Although their size

Topology in the little higgs models

We investigate the implications of the nontrivial vacuum structure of little Higgs models. In particular, focusing on the littlest Higgs model, we demonstrate the existence of three types of

Little Higgs bosons from an antisymmetric condensate

We construct an SU(6)/Sp(6) non-linear sigma model in which the Higgses arise as pseudo-Goldstone bosons. There are two Higgs doublets whose masses have no one-loop quadratic sensitivity to the

Anomalies in Fermionic UV Completions of Little Higgs Models

We consider fermionic UV completions of little Higgs models and their associated T-parity-violating anomalous vertices. In particular, we investigate strategies to avoid such parity-violating

Phenomenology of the littlest Higgs model with T-parity

Little Higgs models offer an interesting approach to weakly coupled electroweak symmetry breaking without fine-tuning. The original little Higgs models were plagued by strong constraints from

The Minimal Moose for a Little Higgs

Recently a new class of theories of electroweak symmetry breaking have been constructed. These models, based on deconstruction and the physics of theory space, provide the first alternative to

Topologically stable soliton in the U(1) gauged Skyrme model

We use a particular prescription to gauge an S3 model with a U(1) Maxwell field. This model reverts to the usual Skyrme model in the limit of the gauge coupling constant vanishing. We show that
