We present a thorough analysis of multicolour CCD observations of two modulated RRab-type variables, XY And and UZ Vir. These Blazhko stars show relatively simple light-curve modu- lation with the usual multiplet structures in their Fourier spectra. One additional, independent frequency with linear-combination terms of the pulsation frequency is also detected in the residual spectrum of each of the two stars. The amplitude and phase relations of the triplet components are studied in detail… Expand

Blazhko stars from the extended BVIC time series of RRab stars in the globular cluster M3 are analysed. This is the largest sample of Blazhko stars with full details of their Blazhko properties inExpand
Recent photometric space missions, such as CoRoT and Kepler, revealed that many RR Lyrae stars pulsate?beyond their main radial pulsation mode?in low-amplitude modes. Space data seem to indicate aExpand
In order to benefit from the four year unprecedented precision of the Kepler data, we extracted light curves from the pixel photometric data of the Kepler space telescope for 15 Blazhko RR LyraeExpand
The SERMON project: 48 new field Blazhko stars and an investigation of modulation-period distribution
We investigated 1234 fundamental mode RR Lyrae stars observed by the All Sky Automated Survey (ASAS) to identify the Blazhko (BL) effect. A sample of 1547 BL stars from the literature was collectedExpand
The Blazhko modulation of TV Boo in 2010
We present the analysis of the multicolour CCD observations in the 2010 season of the Blazhko RRc star TV Boo. TV Boo shows a complex Blazhko modulation dominated by two independent modulations withExpand
A cautionary tale of interpreting O-C diagrams: period instability in a classical RR Lyr Star Z CVn mimicking as a distant companion
We present a comprehensive study of Z CVn, an RR Lyrae star that shows long-term cyclic variations of its pulsation period. A possible explanation suggested from the shape of the O-C diagram is theExpand
The observations of the Kepler Space Telescope revealed that fundamental-mode RR Lyrae stars may show various radial overtones. The presence of multiple radial modes may allow us to conduct nonlinearExpand
New results in RR Lyrae modeling: Convective cycles, additional modes and more
Recent theoretical and observational findings breathed new life into the field of RRLyrae stars. The ever more precise and complete measurements of the space asteroseismology missions revealed newExpand
The additional-mode garden of RR Lyrae stars
Space-based photometric missions revealed a surprising abundance of millimagnitude-level additional modes in RR Lyrae stars. The modes that appear in the modulated fundamental-mode (RRab) stars canExpand
Known Galactic field Blazhko stars
A list of known Galactic field stars exhibiting Blazhko effect containing 242 stars is presented. All the entries including their designations, positions, pulsation, and Blazhko periods wereExpand

An extensive photometric study of the Blazhko RR Lyrae star MW Lyr – II. Changes in the physical parameters★
The analysis of the multicolour photometric observations of MW Lyr, a large modulation amplitude Blazhko variable, shows for the first time how the mean global physical parameters vary during theExpand
An extensive photometric study of the Blazhko RR Lyrae star MW Lyr – I. Light‐curve solution
We have obtained the most extensive and most accurate photometric data of a Blazhko variable MWLyrae (MWLyr) during the 2006-2007 observing seasons. The data within each 0.05 phase bin of theExpand
A New Explanation of the Blazhko Effect in RR Lyrae Stars
An interpretation of the modulating Blazhko effect in RR Lyrae stars is presented here, in which turbulent convection inside the hydrogen and helium ionization zones becomes cyclically weakened andExpand
Fourier analysis of non-Blazhko ab-type RR Lyrae stars observed with the Kepler space telescope
Nineteen of the ∼40 RR Lyr stars in the Kepler field have been identified as candidate non-Blazhko (or unmodulated) stars. In this paper we present the results of Fourier decomposition of theExpand
First CoRoT light curves of RR Lyrae stars Complex multiplet structure and non-radial pulsation detections in V1127 Aquilae
Context. The CoRoT-Convection Rotation and planetary Transits-space mission is a great opportunity for monitoring stars with excellent time-sampling and unprecedented photometric precision for up toExpand
A new method for determining physical parameters of fundamental mode RR Lyrae stars from multicolour light curves
We present a new method for determining physical parameters of RRab variables ex- clusively from multicolour light curves. Our method is an Inverse Photometric Baade- Wesselink analysis which, usingExpand
Flavours of variability: 29 RR Lyrae stars observed with Kepler
We present our analysis of Kepler observations of 29 RR Lyrae stars, based on 138 d of observation. We report precise pulsation periods for all stars. Nine of these stars had incorrect or unknownExpand
On the Blazhko Effect in RR Lyrae Stars
The Blazhko effect is a long-term, generally irregular modulation of the light curves that occurs in a sizeable number of RR Lyrae stars. The physical origin of the effect has been a puzzle everExpand
The CoRoT star 105288363: Strong cycle-to-cycle changes of the Blazhko modulation
We present an analysis of the COnvection, ROtation and planetary Transits (CoRoT) star 105288363, a new Blazhko RR Lyrae star of type RRab (f 0 = 1.7623 d ―1 ), observed with the CoRoT spacecraftExpand
