The Autographa californica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcNPV) replicates in the nuclei of infected cells and encodes several proteins required for viral DNA replication. As a first step in the functional characterization of viral replication proteins, we purified a single-stranded DNA-binding protein (SSB) from AcNPV-infected insect cells.
