BACKGROUND Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is associated with many human neoplasms, including Burkitt's lymphoma (BL). Endemic BL in central Africa is more often EBV-associated than BL in the United States, where seroconversion for EBV occurs somewhat later than in Africa.
