  • Abstract The internal honing of a steel workpiece (080 M 40) was investigated using three different grit sizes and a range of stone pressures. Metal removal rate, stone wear and surface finish were recorded. The results show that changes in stone pressure have a significant influence on the metal removal rate and the stone wear. It was also found that the surface finish of the workpiece was largely dependent on the grit size and independent of the stone pressure
