To evaluate the influence of type 2 diabetes on cancer-specific outcome in patients undergoing surgery for localized renal cell carcinoma (RCC). A total of 1,140 patients with localized RCC undergoing radical or partial nephrectomy were enrolled into this retrospective case–control study.
