A study was made of the effect of chloropropamide (100 mg per kg) on the blood sugar level and the content of glycogen in the liver and skeletal muscles of rats in 4,6,8,17,19,21,25,28,42 and 45 hours after the food intake was stopped and the preparation was administered. Marked reduction of the blood sugar level was noted for a period of 28 hours, whereas the glycogen content in the liver increased considerably only in 4,6 and 8 hours; in the muscles it increased in 8,17 and 19 hours.
