  • The eyeworms of the genus Oxyspirura of birds in southern Louisiana were studied. The num- ber of known avian hosts for oxyspirurids in North America is increased to 28 species. Oxyspirura petrowi is recorded for the first time from Agelaius phoenic&us, Cassidix mexicanus, Quiscalus quiscula, Moloth- rus ater, Tijrannus tyrannus, Myiarchus crinitus, Anthus spinoletta, Richmondena cardinalis, Vireo griseus, Iridoprocne bicolor, Butorides virescens, and Bubulcus ibis.
