Information on the distribution of Anisancylus Pilsbry, 1924 in South America is provided. For first time, we recorded A. dutrae (Santos 1994) in Minas Gerais state and 2 new localities in northeastern Brazil. Anisancylus obliquus (Broderip & Sowerby, 1832) is widely distributed in Chile, Peru, central and southern Argentina, Uruguay and southern Brazil while A. dutrae is restricted to Brazil. This freshwater genus shows a disjunct distribution in South America that could be explained by… Expand

Ancylidae (Gastropoda, Basommatophora) na Amrica do Sul: sistemtica e distribuio
TLDR
The species are caracterized using the combination of shell features and radula by scanning electron microscope, shell muscle and mantle pigmentation, and the conchometry is presented, but it does not help to species identification. Expand
Monophyly, candidate species and vicariance in Biomphalaria snails (Mollusca: Planorbidae) from the Southern Andean Altiplano
TLDR
Monophyly, candidate species and vicariance in Biomphalaria snails (Mollusca: Planorbidae) from the Southern Andean Altiplano are studied. Expand
Estado atual do conhecimento dos ancilídeos na América do Sul (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Pulmonata: Basommatophora)
TLDR
It is necessary to improve the knowledgement specially about morphology, biology, geographical distribution and genetics in order to assess the true systematic position of the called neotropical genera. Expand
Malacología Latinoamericana: Moluscos de agua dulce de Argentina
TLDR
The construction of new areas for the protection and conservation of the high risk endemic species of freshwater molluscs is a priority and it is necessary to give special attention to the species of the patagonic mountain range and of the mesopotamic area of the Del Plata Basin. Expand
Quaternary continental molluscs from Northern Uruguay: distribution and paleoecology
TLDR
Knowing of the continental Quaternary molluscs of Northern Uruguay is good at a regional scale, and properly identified species are from fresh-water, except two (belonging to one genus) that are terrestrial. Expand
Freshwater Gastropod Provinces from Argentina
TLDR
The aim of this work is to define freshwater gastropod provinces and to compare them with the available information on biogeographic regions previously defined using other data sets. Expand
Gundlachia dutrae: n. sp. from northwest Brazil (Mollusca: Basommatophora: Ancylidae)
A new species of Gundlachia, Gundlachia dutrae is described from northwest Brazil. It is distinguishable from other congenerie species by characteristics of the shell, radula and internal organs.Expand
Infection dynamics of sp. (Digenea: Diplostomidae) in first and second intermediate hosts from an Andean Patagonian lake (Argentina)
TLDR
This poster presents a probabilistic assessment of the response of the immune system to the impacts of repeated exposure to carbon dioxide in the context of a high-pressure environment. Expand
Distribution and additive partitioning of diversity in freshwater mollusk communities in Southern Brazilian streams.
TLDR
The results showed that the clumped distribution influenced the partition of the diversity of the mollusk communities in the streams studied, and showed that to preserve limnetic mollusks, it is important to preserve local areas, i.e., streams. Expand
Global diversity of gastropods (Gastropoda; Mollusca) in freshwater
TLDR
The world’s gastropod fauna from continental waters comprises ∼4,000 valid described species and a minimum of 33–38 independent lineages of Recent Neritimorpha, Caenogastropoda and Heterobranchia, but the status of the great majority of taxa is unknown, a situation that is exacerbated by a lack of experts and critical baseline data.
