Methods for determining optimal insemination time in nutrients
- Biology
- 2019
This article analyzed the methods for diagnosing the optimal insemination time for nutria, taking into account their shortcomings and ease of use, and found that the earlier methods used have many shortcomings, as a result of which farms receive less due to death, as well as spoiled quality of fur and skins between animals.
Morphology, morphometry, histochemistry and lectin histochemistry of the vagina of the plains viscacha (Lagostomus maximus)

The aim of the present work was to describe the morphology of the vagina in Lagostomus maximus and to characterize its epithelial cells using morphometric and histochemical techniques (variations of…
Histology, histochemistry and morphometry of the ovary of the adult plains viscacha (Lagostomus maximus) in different reproductive stages
- Biology
- 2009
The ovaries of the viscacha have differential characteristics in comparison to other Hystricognathi, some of them related to polyovulation, and these structures were smaller than those present in other related species.
Particular disposal of muscular component in prostate of nutria (Myocastor coypus, Rodentia, Myocastoridae).
- Biology
- 2009
It was found that, unlike terrestrial mammals, the capsula and conjunctive trabeculae not contain smooth muscle cells, so they do not participate in the evacuation of the content from gland during ejaculation, which appears to be a functional adaptation due to the fact that the nutria male performs the sexual act also in water.
Retinohypothalamic projection in the mouse: Electron microscopic and iontophoretic investigations of hypothalamic and optic centers
- BiologyCell and Tissue Research
- 2004
The problem of the direct retinohypothalamic projection in mammals was reinvestigated in the laboratory mouse by electron microscopy and cobalt chloride-iontophoresis and the number of degenerating axons in the suprachiasmatic nucleus showed a maximum one day after unilateral retinectomy.
Nutria (Myocastor coypus) in Louisiana.pdf
- Environmental Science
- 2002
The nutria or coypu (Myocastor coypus) is a rodent native to South America that has been introduced almost worldwide since the early 1900’s, originally with the intent of fur farming, but has become an important prey item for the alligator and effects of nutria activity on other animals are primarily negative.
