Intercellular cell adhesion molecules (ICAMs) genetic polymorphisms have been considered to be implicated in the development of breast cancer. However, the previous reports are conflicting. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to assess the association between three polymorphisms, including ICAM1 K469E, ICAM5 V301I, ICAM5 rs281439, and breast cancer risk. The meta-analyses are based on a literature search of PubMed, CNKI and VIP database up until August 2011. Pooled odds ratio (OR) with 95…
Impacts of ICAM-1 gene polymorphisms on urothelial cell carcinoma susceptibility and clinicopathologic characteristics in Taiwan
The rs5498 polymorphic genotypes of ICAM-1 might contribute to the prediction of susceptibility to and pathological development of UCC.
ICAM-1 +469 A/G polymorphism and cancer risk: a meta-analysis involving 9375 subjects.
The evidence from current meta-analysis doesn't support the ICAM-1 +469 A/G polymorphism as a risk factor for cancer, and further studies are needed to validate these findings.
Integrative analyses reveal signaling pathways underlying familial breast cancer susceptibility
The signaling events that drive familial breast cancer (FBC) risk remain poorly understood. While the majority of genomic studies have focused on genetic risk variants, known risk variants account
Proteomics Identification and Validation of Desmocollin‐1 and Catechol‐O‐Methyltransferase as Proteins Associated with Breast Cancer Cell Migration and Metastasis
The findings indicate importance of both proteins for breast cancer development and metastasis and highlight the potential of biomarker validation strategy via targeted data extraction from SWATH‐MS datasets.
Optical Imaging of Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Cells in Xenograft Athymic Mice Using an ICAM-1-Targeting Small-Molecule Probe
This is the first report of the use of ICAM-1-specific small-molecule probe for in vivo NIRF optical imaging of TNBC, and it is demonstrated that TNBC cells have an increased cellular uptake of γ3-Cy5.5.
Pharmacogenetics of cancer therapy: breakthroughs from beyond?
Progress of cancer therapy PG is entering into a bottleneck stage owing to simple model of relevant techniques and routines, so promoting or even innovating present PG modular is very necessary.

ICAM gene cluster SNPs and prostate cancer risk in African Americans
The results replicate previous findings of association of the ICAM gene cluster with prostate cancer and suggest that common genetic variation within ICAM1 and not ICAM5 may be an important risk factor for prostate cancer.
ICAM‐1 polymorphisms and development of cutaneous malignant melanoma
Results provide no evidence for a role for the ICAM‐1 codon 241 and 469 SNPs in determining susceptibility to CMM, but provide preliminary evidence that the role of IC AM‐1 polymorphism in modulating tumour growth in CMM requires further investigation in a larger study group.
Polymorphisms of the ICAM-1 exon 6 (E469K) are associated with differentiation of colorectal cancer
The findings indicate that polymorphisms of G241R are rare in Chinese population and that KK genotype of ICAM-1 K469E is significantly associated with well differentiation of CRC.
Polymorphisms of the ICAM-1 gene are associated with inflammatory bowel disease, regardless of the p-ANCA status.
Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are associated with polymorphisms of the ICAM-1 gene, which might therefore represent a functional candidate gene, however, the observed associations are independent of the p-ANCA status.
Effect of interaction between polymorphisms in the ICAM gene locus and BRCA1 on breast cancer risk
There is an association between ICAM gene locus SNPs and breast cancer risk, and the interaction betweenICAM gene and BRCA1 has some effect on breast cancerrisk.
Relation between common polymorphisms in genes related to inflammatory response and colorectal cancer.
Apart from shedding light on the mechanisms of malignancy initiation and progression, SNPs may improve appropriate screening for sub-populations at risk.
High risk of cutaneous melanoma amongst carriers of the intercellular adhesion molecule-1 R241 allele
In this population of Modena Province, northern Italy, individuals carrying the R241 allele of the ICAM-1 gene appeared to show an enhanced susceptibility to cutaneous melanoma, possibly because of increased IC AM-1 expression.
Role of ICAM1 in invasion of human breast cancer cells.
The results corroborate the previous genetic finding that variations in the ICAM region are associated with the occurrence of metastases and establish a causal role of ICAM1 in invasion of metastatic human breast carcinoma cell lines.
Large-Scale Association Study Identifies ICAM Gene Region as Breast and Prostate Cancer Susceptibility Locus
A large-scale association study to identify genes that influence nonfamilial breast cancer risk using a collection of German cases and matched controls and >25,000 single nucleotide polymorphisms located within 16,000 genes identified one of the candidate loci located on chromosome 19p13.
