The principal findings of the P. falciparum surveys are given below. Considerable diversity of enzymes, antigens, drug sensitivity and other characters is seen among P. falciparum isolates. Cloning studies show that certain isolates contain mixtures of parasites which may be diverse in one or more of these characters.
