A scale on job satisfaction was developed, which could be used in a wide range of occupational groups. Aninitial item pool of 44 items thought to be aspecis of .iobiatidfaction was com- pleted by a sample of 885 Ontario working adults in a wide range of occupations. Factor analysis was conducted on the items and a set of l0 items was defined on one factor. Cronbach's alpha for these items was .77.
