Acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) is a well-known application of adaptive filters in communication acoustics. To implement AEC for multichannel reproduction systems, powerful adaptation algorithms like the generalized frequency-domain adaptive filtering (GFDAF) algorithm are required for satisfactory convergence behavior.
