Eight mature specimens (three males and five females) of Apororhyn chus silesiacus Okulewicz and Maruszewski, 1980 (Acanthocephala, Apororhynchida, Apororhynchidae) have been found in the small intestine of Erithacus rubecula at Alsóperepuszta, Hungary (new geographical record). The species is redescribed and figured on the basis of the Hungarian material. The main differences from the original description concern the dimensions of the pro boscis, the testes and the giant nuclei in males.

TLDR
Combined data suggest that Apororhynchida kept the full set of muscles which already evolved in the stem line of Acanthocephala, and lack of a muscle plate, a midventral longitudinal muscle, and of lateral receptacle flexors and the absence of an apical sensory organ indicate a basally branching position of AporOrhyn chida relative to other ArchiacanthoCEphala.
