No. 325,510, filed Jan. 22, 1973, rotatable support bolts carrying fastening nuts moving clamp elements into engagement with a rim flange are rotated to a predetermined "first stage" position to correctly align the rim on a wheel. Thereafter, the fastening nuts are rotated relative to the support bolts to provide a "second stage" position so as to fully seat the rim on the wheel without distortion or misalignment.
